Over the last few years, we have developed a special and unique relationship with Piraeus’ Workshop of Special Vocational Training (WoSVT) του Πειραιά. A public school for teenagers and young adults (13-22 years old) who are Elementary School graduates, with special educational needs. Back in 2015, the kids and their teachers visited us for the very first time. During that visit, Mr. Taglis -the company’s President and CEO- gave them a special guided tour, while explaining to them the entire production process. Their true concern and creative spirit made us proceed with a donation of wood-related material for their workshop, as a small, yet genuine token of appreciation of their creative efforts.

Back in 1939, the Sikiaridis family founded a venue that was at first an orphanage and a preventorium (an institution for patients -especially children- infected with tuberculosis who did not yet have an active form of the disease). In 1971 it became what it is today, a vocational training center for mentally disabled teenagers age 14 and up. Even though the foundation has a wide variety of workshops -pottery, catering, gardening, et al- we chose to support -for the obvious reasons- its carpentry workshop. Our donation covered the needs of the workshop and helped its young participants to express best their creative spirit.

Our industry is deeply connected with nature, therefore we have to acknowledge the importance of our initiatives when it comes to protecting the environment. The climate, the proper use of natural resources, the balance of the ecosystem, and the protection of public health, all demand a series of actions on our behalf, such as:

• Recycling our production residue
• Using filters during the production process
• Supporting green initiatives for businesses
• Contributing to protecting our natural resources (e.g. during the 2016 fires)
• Cleaning thoroughly both the interior and the exterior of our facilities

Our people in specific, our true force. With a sense of respect and belief towards our values, we recognize their contribution, and we are rewarding them at any given chance. Through our help and support, for both our employees and their families. Because we are aware that our care can guarantee their growth, both on a personal and professional level.
